The Annual Town Election is May 6, 2025!
Originally from Belarus, I came to the United States for graduate school, earning a PhD in Physics from Cornell University in 2013. Afterwards I moved to the Boston area, working first in life sciences consulting and then in biotech. My current job is focused on long-range planning and strategic assessments. I have started getting involved with the community while living in Somerville, notably as a member of the Somerville Comprehensive Plan committee in 2017-19.
In 2021 I moved to Brookline, where I live with my wife, Anuttama Sheela Mohan, and our two children Amit and Maya. Amit is a second grader at Pierce school, and Maya will be starting kindergarten in the fall. I’ve been grateful to have the opportunity to serve the town as a member of the Brookline Comprehensive planning committee since 2024. Through this work I developed concrete ideas for improvements, aligned with many of the community priorities. I also realized that legislative action is key to enacting change, prompting me to run for the Town Meeting.
My top priorities if elected are:
Housing & Development - Brookline must be welcoming to people across different incomes and backgrounds. I support zoning reforms to incentivize denser, mixed-use housing, streamline permitting, and expand affordability through both market-based and regulatory approaches.
Fiscal Stability - To address budget challenges, we must expand our tax base through strategic residential and commercial development while ensuring new growth doesn’t strain town services.
School Quality - To maintain excellence in public education in Brookline, we must adequately fund our schools while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Endorsed by Brookline for Everyone.
I respectfully ask for one of your votes for Town Meeting Member on May 6th, 2025.
