Marissa Vogt
About Marissa (she/her)
I am a planetary space physicist at BU and have lived in Brookline with my husband since 2014. Our two children will attend BEEP and Pierce in the fall. My goals as a Town Meeting Member include ensuring that our town is a safe, affordable, and welcoming place for people of all backgrounds and increasing transparency in our local government. As Brookline continues to cope with the public health and economic crises brought by the pandemic we must work to fully leverage town resources – including federal ARPA funding – to help us confront systemic inequities and support our schools, most vulnerable residents, and businesses.
Recent Brookline Activities
Member of the Pedestrian Advisory Committee since 2020 (click here for my analysis of BrookONline sidewalk snow removal complaints)
Town Meeting Member since 2020 (formerly Precinct 4)
Lead petitioner on Warrant Article 35 for the 2022 Annual Brookline Town Meeting, a resolution calling for increased transparency in email communications among Town Meeting Members. Our resolution calls for the Town Meeting Members Association (TMMA) email list to be readable by the general public, not just Town Meeting Members, by September 2022.
Co-petitioner on warrant articles to expand accessibility of town board/committee meetings by offering a remote participation option (Fall 2021 Warrant Articles 11 and 12)
Endorsed by Brookline for Everyone and the Brookline Equity Coalition. I did not seek a PAX endorsement in 2022. Click here for my completed candidate endorsement questionnaires.
