Lawrence Whitney

Brookline residents for eight years, my wife and I are proud Pierce parents of a third grader and a kindergartner, and our multigenerational family includes my father-in-law next door. I recently served on the Pierce principal interview committee, am a research associate at the Smithsonian, and a chaplain at Brandeis University.

In Precinct 6 we eagerly anticipate the renovation of the Pierce School, and I look forward to advocating and helping navigate the override necessary to make that happen. Townwide we will benefit from more inclusive and participatory processes with transparent and accountable leadership to address ongoing inequities in our schools, housing, and development planning and policies. I aim to cultivate partnerships across Precinct 6 and the town to develop progressive and pragmatic solutions to these problems.
